Budget 2013: ‘Declining film industry needs bail-out package’

The declining Pakistani film industry needs to be supported, says film director Sarwar Bhatti.

Several artists on Tuesday requested the government to provide funds in the upcoming federal budget to promote art and culture in the country.   


“The government should allocate funds in the budget to establish art and cultural institutions on the same footings as the National Art Gallery,” said Quddus Mirza.


Theatre and TV artist, Uzma Hassan, said the government should also allocate funds for senior artists who had served Pakistan.
