Khan Muhammad, the hotel’s owner, said his establishment located at the Selai Patay picnic spot had four rooms. “Around 11am, Nazir Shah, the baker, was putting wood into the oven when a fire ignited in the nearby woods,” Muhammad explained.
“The inferno completely enveloped the structure and reduced it to cinders. Three cars parked in a nearby garage were also destroyed by the fire.” Muhammad further said the fire ignited as a result of strong winds, which blew embers from the oven into the woods nearby. He claimed his entire property had been gutted, and demanded the government financially assist him.
