School assessment: Improvement initiative launched

ILM Ideas and Idara-i-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA) on Monday launched the School Assessment for School Improvement (SASI) with the objective of providing an evaluation and monitoring mechanism for low-cost schools. Government officials, school administrators and solution providers discussed the need for a programme like SASI to could improve the quality of education in low-cost schools. The event also provided school administrators an opportunity to discuss innovative ideas and microfinance options. ITA Programme Director Baela Raza Jamil said 25 schools in Lahore and Karachi were assessed as part of SASI’s pilot programme.
