Monsoon are nigh: ICT finalises arrangements

The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has finalised arrangements to cope with floods in low-lying areas of the city in the upcoming monsoon.


These arrangements were reviewed and finalised at a meeting presided by Deputy Commissioner, Islamabad, Amer Ali Ahmed on Monday. The meeting was attended by officials of all line departments including Islamabad Traffic Police, the CDA, Meteorological Department, Civil Defense, Simly Dam, Rawal Dam and others.

Assistant commissioners and the relevant officials were instructed to ensure the protection of life and property of the people living in nearby areas of the Korang River, Soan River, Simly Dam and Rawal Dam.

Meanwhile, additional district magistrate, has imposed 144 in Islamabad. The administration has also prohibited swimming and fishing in dams, rivers and streams for a period of two months.
