‘Encounter’: Three ‘robbers’ killed, another three flee

Police said they had found stolen gold jewellery, cash and illegal weapons on the bodies.

Three men, said to be robbers, were killed on Monday in a shootout with the police. Police said their three accomplices fled the scene.


Police said they had found stolen gold jewellery, cash and illegal weapons on the bodies.

Two motorcycles, the robbers were fleeing on, were also seized.

At a press conference on Monday, SP (Investigation) Tanveer Hussain Tunio, who is also the acting DPO these days, said that six armed men had broken into the house of Raiz Aarain in Chak 123-P and held up the family. They had fled with 397,000 cash and gold jewellery.

He said SHO Inspector Abdul Hameed of the Manthar police station and his team had chased the robbers and caught them near Chak 221-P.

On seeing the police get close, he said, the men shot at the team.

The police shot back, killing three of them. The other three fled.
