Cargo train engine overturns near Harappa

SAHIWAL:

An engine of a cargo train travelling from Karachi to Lahore overturned near Harappa railway station in Sahiwal on Saturday, derailing multiple bogies loaded with goods.

According to reports, a brake failure caused the engine to overturn, leading to its complete destruction.

As many as 10 to 12 cargo bogies went off the track.

In the accident, one of the drivers survived while the other sustained minor injuries.

The driver had applied the brakes and attempted to stop the train by diverting it to the emergency track.
