Controlling Crime: ‘Bank cameras should be linked’

A meeting will be held with the commissioner on June 17 to devise a strategy as well.

KARACHI:
All banks should have security cameras and all bank branches should link their surveillance systems, said Karachi commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui on Saturday.


He was in a meeting with bank representatives, the chief of petroleum dealers association, DIG South, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation representatives and police information technology officials. He suggested that surveillance cameras at banks, petrol pumps, gas stations, industries, recreational places, police, and the KMC command and control system should be interlinked to maintain law and order. A meeting will be held with the commissioner on June 17 to devise a strategy as well.
