Press conference: PMA denounces doctors’ strike
PMA condemns attack by Rangers personnel at doctors' peaceful protest.
KARACHI:
Members of the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Karachi, while condemning the brutal attack by the Rangers personnel at the doctors’ peaceful protest, have denounced the strike call by the doctors association of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).
Speaking about the situation at the JPMC, the PMA held the view that people with vested interests were trying to sabotage the smooth running of the institutions.
The doctors’ association at the JPMC continued its protest against the administration of JPMC as over a 100 doctors held placards and shouted slogans against the administration.
The association’s president, Dr Javaid Jamali, told The Express Tribune that they had decided to register an FIR against those responsible for the attack on the doctors. He added that attempts were being made to ensure the smooth running of the JPMC’s emergency department during the protests.
