KARACHI:
The mastermind behind the attack on a polio vaccination team in Sultanabad two months ago was arrested by the Rangers on Wednesday.
According to the Rangers spokesperson, the accused, identified as Niaz aka Khanuku, was arrested on a lead given by a criminal picked up from Manghopir.
He did not, however, disclose his affiliation with any proscribed organisation. Niaz was shifted to an undisclosed location for further questioning.
Separately, around eight suspects, including criminals, were rounded up in targeted raids in Gulshan-e-Maymar, Landhi, Dalmia, New Karachi, Surjani, North Nazimabad, Lyari and Kharadar.
Weapons were also found from their possession.
