Failure to protect: Court summons home secretary, CCPO

The Peshawar high Court (PHC) has summoned secretary home and tribal affairs and the CCPO to respond about why they had failed to protect the life of a previously missing person. The relevant SHO has also been asked to appear with the record of the incident.
Gul Muhammad was allegedly picked up by security agencies on May 21, 2012 along with another person. He was later found dead within the jurisdiction of Khazanap police station.
Gul Muhammad’s counsel Saeed Khan Akhunzada told the court his client’s family members were informed about his body by the Khyber Medical College authorities. The family later collected Muhammad’s body.
