Crime: ‘Robber’ killed in police encounter

He said car trackers were used to locate the vehicle.

FAISALABAD:
A man said to be a robber was killed on Tuesday in a shootout with the police. His accomplice fled the scene. Ameer Nasir Javed, the CPO’s spokesman, said the men had stolen a car from the Madina Town.


He said car trackers were used to locate the vehicle. The robbers were spotted near Chak 237-RB. They shot at the police team, who shot back, killing one of them. His accomplice fled. Javed said the stolen car had been impounded. A 0.30-bore pistol and a Kalashnikov rifle were found on the deceased.
