Short circuit: fires at two sites in Clifton

Short circuits cause fires at separate incidents in Clifton, Karachi.

KARACHI:
A fire broke out in the office of an advertising company located on the sixth floor of a building adjacent to the KPT Underpass in Clifton. Defence Housing Authority’s fire brigade officials said that they received information regarding the fire at around 10:15am upon which they dispatched two fire tenders and a snorkel to the site. The firefighters managed to bring the fire under control with help from the city’s fire brigade department after two hours. The officials claimed that there no casualties in the incident, however, more than 75 per cent of the office equipment was damaged. According to initial investigations, the fire had been caused by a short circuit. In a separate incident, a fire broke out in a flat on the fourth floor of Karachi Residency located at Boat Basin, Clifton. Luckily, fire tenders reached the site on time and managed to bring the fire under control before it could cause any damage. The cause of the blaze was reportedly a short circuit.
