SMEs: Businesses plan to relocate from Karachi to Punjab
Union of Small and Medium Enterprises compiles study for investments in Lahore, Gujranwalla and Sialkot
KARACHI:
The Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (Unisame) has made a study for investments in Lahore, Gujranwalla and Sialkot regions for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) of Karachi who have decided to shift to Punjab.
The union had approached the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority for help in facilitating the businesses. President Unisame Zulfikar Thaver said that due to deteriorating law and order situation in Karachi the union requested its patrons to help those SME units who have decided to shift to Punjab and guide them in selecting the correct locations.
Vice chairman of the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) and UNISAME patron Chaudhry Sameeullah, provided his support to the project and pointed out various locations in Punjab he believed were available for investment.
