South Africa beat Netherlands by 84 runs in one-off ODI.
J P Duminy starred as South Africa beat minnows Netherlands in the one-off One-Day International by 84 runs at the VRA Ground in Amstelveen yesterday, according to ESPNcricinfo.
The flamboyant left-handed batsman smashed 150 off just 119 balls, including eight sixes and four boundaries to steer South Africa to an impressive total of 341 for three. He was ably supported by Colin Ingram, who scored a patient 82 off 106 balls. In reply, Netherlands put up a fight but could only manage 257 for nine in their allotted 50 overs.
Eric Szwarczynski, who was Netherlands’ star performer, was unlucky to miss out on a memorable century as he was run out on 98. His 116-ball knock included 11 fours. There was also a valuable contribution by Peter Borren, who scored a quickfire 48 off 42 balls.
South Africa now play Pakistan on June 3 at The Oval in a Champions Trophy warm-up game before kicking off their campaign against India on June 6 at Cardiff.
