Red zone: Fool-proof security for NA session

The area from PTV Building to Cabinet Division has been declared a sensitive zone.

ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Interior has directed Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration to ensure fool-proof security arrangements for the upcoming National Assembly session scheduled for June 1, an official source said on Thursday. The official said that the ministry has been directed to further beef up security in the city as well as at the parliament lodges and Constitution Avenue. Security of ‘Red Zone’ including D-Chowk would also be tight and irrelevant and unauthorised individuals would not be allowed to travel through these routes. An ICT official said that the Constitution Avenue, D-Chowk, including the area from PTV Building to Cabinet Division has been declared a sensitive zone. The ICT Administration has advised unauthorized people not to travel towards the parliament building to avoid any inconvenience.
