Bad blood: Lawyer gunned down in DI Khan
The accused followed Gulla Jan Wazir’s car before opening fire on Khushal Bridge.

Two persons, including a lawyer, were killed while another was injured in a targeted attack in DI Khan on Tuesday, according to a police official at the Dera Town police station.
According to the official, Gula Jan Wazir Advocate was in his car with his clerk Bilal and nephew Faridullah when they were shot at. Wazir died on the spot and lost control of the car, accidentally running over Sayed Ghulam Mehsud, a pedestrian. Wazir’s clerk Bilal, meanwhile, was wounded in the incident and rushed to District Headquarters Teaching Hospital for treatment by Rescue-15.
According to Faridullah, who was unhurt, the three men were en route from Dera Town to the district courts. When the car reached Khushal Bridge on Daraban Road, four people, who had been following the vehicle, opened fire. Faridullah added in the FIR there was some enmity with the men who attacked.
He lodged an FIR under Sections 302, 324,427/34 of the Pakistan Penal Code against Rafiqullah Mehsud, Gul Razam Mehsud, Abdul Ghafur Mehsud and Noor Rehman Mehsud.
Gula Jan Wazir belonged to the Wazir tribe of Wana, South Waziristan, but practiced in DI Khan district courts. He was also an active worker of the Awami National Party.
