Balochistan interim govt: Barozai discusses time in office

Barozai said that during the past two months all decisions were based on merit despite a great deal of pressure.

QUETTA:
Balochistan Caretaker Chief Minister Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Barozai has said he had wished to talk to leaders of the pro-Baloch independence movement but was unable to due to time constraints and other hindrances, such as problems in visa issuances.

However, he added he would try to contact them again. “I wanted to do a lot for Balochistan and its people in the short period of time but could not do so,” he said, while talking to senior journalists at the CM Secretariat on Monday. Barozai said that during the past two months all decisions were based on merit despite a great deal of pressure.

He added that like other parts of the country, elections in Balochistan had been satisfactory. “The turnout in some areas was very low and due to the law and order situation, we tried to restore confidence of people and were successful in this regard,” he said.
