Successful raid: Rangers seize 475kg of explosive material

The paramilitary forces claimed to have seized about 475 kilogrammes of explosive material in a raid in PECHS on Monday.


According to Rangers officials, the raid was conducted at an unoccupied building in PECHS based on information gathered during the interrogation of a militant arrested earlier. They added that three suspects were detained from the site and were shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.


Of the recovered explosive substances, officials said that 400 kilogrammes was ammonium nitrate while the remaining 75 kilogrammes was hydrogen oxide.

Both chemicals are used in the manufacture of explosives and the Rangers officials expressed the possibility that it was meant for major terrorist attacks in the city.

Further investigation is underway.
