LAHORE:

Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Najam Sethi has said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz provincial president Shahbaz Sharif will take oath as the chief minister of the province on June 6.

Talking to media on Sunday, Sethi said that the process of the transfer of government will be completed once the new chief minister takes oath.

Meanwhile, Sethi expressed grief over the blaze in a school van on Saturday which claimed the lives of 16 children and a school teacher and vowed that strict action would be taken against those responsible. He added that he would visit the victims’ bereaved families today (Monday).

Responding to a question, Sethi denied reports of his posting as the ambassador to the United States and said there was no truth in the rumours.
