OGRA scandal: SSGPCL, SECP officials summoned by NAB
Accused asked to provide information relating to issuance of UFG notification.

Following some startling revelations, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned additional accused persons in the multi-billion-rupee Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) scandal.
According to official documents available with The Express Tribune, NAB has issued notices to Company Secretary of the Sui Southern Gas Pipelines Company Limited (SSGPCL) Yousaf Ansari, SSGPCL Finance General Manager Mr Arsalan, SSGPCL Finance Deputy Manager Mr Ashfaq, ex-staff officer of Managing Director SSGPCL Dr Ejaz, former Chairman Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP)Muhammad Ali, SECP Commissioner Imtiaz Haider, Aqeel Kareem Dhedi, Nisar Ahmad, Chief Executive of one of the AKD companies as well as member board of director of SSGPCL.
Earlier, NAB had also summoned former premiers Yousaf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervez Ashraf, former adviser for petroleum and natural resources Dr Asim Hussain, Pakistan’s Ambassador in the UAE Jameel Ahmad Khan and Commercial Attaché Farooq Langah.
The contents of the notices, served through the police under section 19, read with 27, of the National Accountability Ordinance (NAO), read: “Whereas your presence is necessary for the purpose of investigation into offence reported to have committed under NAO,1999, therefore, you are directed to appear before Mr Waqas Ahmed Khan, Deputy Director/Investigation Officer NAB Rawalpindi at 12:00hrs on May 30, 2013, therefore give such information relating to increase/decrease in Unaccounted For Gas (UFG) and impact of conversation of operating income into non-operating income or any other information that you may process.”
NAB directed the accused to provide information relating to causing a loss to the national exchequer and gaining pecuniary benefits as a consequence of issuance of UFG notification.
