Lahore and Punjab dont kill people because they are Pakhtuns, Mohajirs, Balochi, Sindhi or Kashmiris. Shahbaz and Nawaz Sharif are Kashmiri origined and Lahore is full of other ethnicities. But unlike Karachi, Lahore is strongly embedded in a Punjabi Leitkultur (leading culture) whch is confidently dominant. Karachi lacks a dominant Leitkultur ....

@saad sheik; dude, whats your defination of being 'modern' ? And how can i agree with u that karachi isn't racist when people got killed just because of their ethnicity?
@ Saad Sheikh: Think before u talk. All kinds of ethnicity can be found in Lahore. To me Karachi is the most regressive and racist city. People of Lahore are the most open-minded and tolerant of other ethnicities.

Actually Lahore is one of the most racist city of Pakistan, the lack ethnic diversity despite perpetual peace is a testimony to that. Please read the post above before creating it a Karachi vs Lahore fight.
Lahore is regressive at the moment where as it used to be the cultural capital of Pakistan. Next you will be telling me that because Middle East has better roads, amenities and law and order than India, doesn't make it more modern than India.

Lahore seems quite advanced to me whenever I visit there. . Karachi, Islamabad are not behind either. Only problem is law and order situation in Karachi (but that is likely to improve as parties are under pressure after elections and there are clear changes in leadership to remove those who have ties with violent individuals)
Lahore is way ahead of Karachi and Islamabad. It is the intellectual capital of Pakistan.
Hmmm surprising Lahore was supposed to be the most modern town as it was the capital of undivided Punjab. S i g h - the wonder that we were once upon a time ... the wonder that was India ... s i g h
Unfortunately though Lahori's continue to lead the use of modern technology it is more backward than Karachi and Islamabad let alone cities outside Pakistan when it comes to modernity. Worse is the fact that my each visit to Lahore and Karachi make me realise that both cities are becoming increasingly divergent and intolerance amongst educated classes continue to rise in Lahore where the religious elite and the non-religious elite equate modernity with sense of clothing rather than fundamental rights, civil liberties and other benchmarks.
