Impact of internet, mobile phones on improved quality of life.

This 2013 report explores the attitudes of people in Lahore towards modern technology and its influence on values and culture. One hundred people from Gulberg, DHA, Allama Iqbal and Jauhar towns were interviewed in 2011. More than half were young, under 35 years. Half of the women were from DHA and 92% had access to internet or owned cell phones. Here are some excerpts

Lahore and Punjab dont kill people because they are Pakhtuns, Mohajirs, Balochi, Sindhi or Kashmiris. Shahbaz and Nawaz Sharif are Kashmiri origined and Lahore is full of other ethnicities. But unlike Karachi, Lahore is strongly embedded in a Punjabi Leitkultur (leading culture) whch is confidently dominant. Karachi lacks a dominant Leitkultur ....
