LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif has nominated his brother Shahbaz Sharif for the post of chief minister of Punjab, Express News reported on Thursday.
Shahbaz had served as Punjab CM in the last government.
Shahbaz, in his earlier tenure, was equally praised and criticised for his decisions such as Metro Bus project and free laptops to students.
In Sindh, former chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah is said to be the frontrunner for the slot and sources in Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) told The Express Tribune that the party would officially nominate him for the post soon.
If this is done, Shah will serve as CM Sindh for a record third time.

@Tasneem: oh yes...one man show for five years....15 ministries in one....no local govts. for five years......30 billion usurped in rotis...40 billion in metro....medicine scandal,....and much much more.......now that he knows he wont get any more turn....may be he will try to rectify...though i do not see that happening

He was the previous CM as well and again they are making him the CM of Punjab i just hope they should try to work on the benefits of the province.

PML N won in Punjab because of good performance of shehbaz sharif. why PTI is raising objection? Has PML N raised any objection on new KPK CM. Then what is wrong with PTI people that they always criticize others. shame for them.

As I said before the elections...NOW WE ONLY HAVE OURSELVES TO BLAME...not Sharif's or any other status quo that we brought back on our heads. To be honest with you...I have stopped thinking about Pakistan's future after elections outcome. We had one chance to change course of our nation for good and we still got sold out for one meal...shame on all of us.

family nominations are ok as long as they are backed by peoples support.It goes everywhere even in USA.Think; are all people making comments agaianst it ,supporters of dictatorship. You may find that 90 percent of the same support Mush. The rest I will salute to but may be none on ET.SS will further the development work and continue the tradition of good clean governance.
Right choice for Punjab which needs an administrative like Shahbaz. We hope that PML(N)'s priorities will be education and health.

Punjab deserves the best and Mian Shehbaz Sharif is the best. He was the force behind two third majority. Who cares which family, caste or community he belongs. Its a great fortune and blessing of Allah to have such a loyal and loving brother.

Salman Shehbaz is the new contender. Hes one of the top decision makers now. He wd be defecto minister this time.
Dynastic politics is too deep-rooted in our set up, no wonder if Hamza Shahbaz will be the Minister of Information, Maryam Nawaz as a foreign ministor & Sulaiman Shahbaz as Minister for Water & Energy. Afterall country requires unified approach to resolution of issues.
All parties have the families of the leaders involved at one or another level. it was interesting to see Ms Aleema Khan issuing statements on behalf of PTI, and nephew of Imran Khan heading the youth wing, until he had to leave for studies abroad. I wonder if there is a party with its leader not having his family particiapting in political activities at all
