KARACHI:

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has been directed to seal and preserve the records on the redrawn boundaries of the seven electoral constituencies of Naushero Feroze district.

The commission has also been directed by the Sindh High Court to produce the same before the court. The direction came on a petition filed by former legislator, Mureed Ali Shah, who alleged the ECP officials of tampering with the delimitation. On Monday, Shah told the judges that he had come to know that a member of the commission had kept the record of Naushero Feroze’s constituencies in his custody and there was apprehension that the records may be tampered. Justice Maqbool Baqar issued notices to the ECP with direction to ‘seal and preserve’ the records and produce it at the next hearing.
