Railways jobs: Candidates’ protest forces test administration
Some 6,000 people have applied for 26 posts of ticket checkers and guards in the Multan division.

Scores of candidates for jobs in the railways were allowed to sit the entry tests after they protested against its postponement for the third time on Monday.
They accused the in charge of recruitment of “selling the posts” for hundreds of thousands of rupees each. Some 6,000 people have applied for 26 posts of ticket checkers and guards in the Multan division.
The protesters said that recruitment drive was not fair. They said that the written examinations had already been postponed twice. On Monday, they were informed that the examinations had been postponed again.
They said some of the people had come from far off places Some said that a deputy secretary was rumoured to be selling the jobs for Rs500,000 each. The protesters refused to leave until they had sat the exam. After more than two hours, the written test was given.
