Lax for tax: Excise department recovers unpaid taxes
Rs 1,589,157 recovered from due property tax of the entire Rawalpindi Division.

The Excise and Taxation Department (ETD) Punjab sealed 629 properties on account of nonpayment of property tax during its three day campaign in Rawalpindi division. The ETD also recovered arrears of property tax worth Rs6,599,197.
Director ETD Shahidur Rehman disclosed in a statement that the ETD, from May 14 to May 16, checked 8,941 vehicles in the Rawalpindi division and recovered Rs3,394,217 as token tax.
It was disclosed that Rs1,444,8504 was recoverable as property tax and a special campaign was launched for the recovery of these dues and total 629 properties of the owners who did not paid their Property Tax were sealed.
The director further added that Rs 1,589,157 were recovered from due property tax of the entire Rawalpindi Division.
Director instructed owners of properties and vehicles to pay their property/token tax in time to avoid strict action.
