HARIPUR:
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) ordered recounting of votes on the NA-19 Haripur constituency on May 22, radio.gov.pk reported Friday.

The application for recounting of votes was submitted by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Omar Ayub, who lost the seat to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) candidate Raja Aamer Zaman.

Zaman secured the Haripur seat with 116,579 votes, while Ayub bagged only 114,374 votes.

Earlier on Friday, MQM had demanded re-polling in all polling stations of the NA-250 constituency in Karachi.

Similarly, PTI had asked for re-polling all across Karachi and to recount votes for Lahore’s NA-122. The ECP rejected MQM’s appeal and PTI’s request for recounting.
