Sana retained captain as squad announced

No changes made for Global T20 qualifiers and UK tour.

PCB women wing made no major change as it named the national squad for next month’s tour of UK.

KARACHI:
Despite a woeful show at the ICC Women World Cup earlier this year, the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) women wing made no major change as it named the national squad for next month’s tour of UK.

The team finished at the bottom of the World Cup in India after which the boards signalled major changes.

However, experienced player Sana Mir and Bismah Maroof were retained as captain and vice captains respectively in the 14-player squad. No changes were made in the team management. Pakistan play two One-Day Internationals (ODI) and as many Twenty20s against England besides an ODI and a couple of Twenty20s against Ireland before the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Qualifiers begin on July 23.

The squad includes Mir, Maroof, Nain Fatima Abidi, Nida Rashid, Javeria Wadood, Rabia Shah, Asmavia Iqbal, Sumaiya Siddiqui, Sadia Yousaf, Nahida Bibi, Batool Fatima, Qanita Jalil, Irum Javed and Javeria Rauf.
