Violence: Woman set on fire by ‘brothers-in-law’

She was taken to a tehsil headquarters hospital, where doctors said that she had suffered 50 per cent burns.

A woman died on Wednesday after she was set on fire allegedly by her in-laws.

A case had been registered on the complaint of her brother, Muhammad Boota, who accused her brothers-in-law of killing her. He said he had received a call informing him that his sister had attempted suicide. He said he had rushed to her house and found her screaming. He said her brothers-in-law were present but no one had taken her to the hospital.


He took her to tehsil headquarters hospital, where doctors said that she had 50 per cent burns. They said she had also been attacked with acid besides being burned using kerosene oil. She died a few hours later. Boota informed the police, who said they were awaiting the post-mortem examination report.
