KARACHI: The Darakhshan police in Karachi arrested seven people on Wednesday suspected of rigging polls on May 11.

The case, however, has been registered against the suspects for disturbing law and order at the DHA College for Women and Clifton Grammar School in Boat Basin on May 11.

Police declined to give details on the political affiliations of the suspects.

After complaints were lodged by residents of the area, FIRs were registered against Ghullam Mustafa, Muhammad Iqbal, Ehsaan, Abdullah, Mohsin, Rehan Mushtaq and Taimur.

On Monday, the Election Commission of Pakistan formulated 14 election tribunals across Pakistan to investigate the rigging allegations put forth by various political parties.

Three such tribunals will be dedicated to the Sindh province.

The candidates for whom the rigging was done should be disqualified aside from other action under law.

By hiding their political affiliations, the authorities are effectively being dishonest with the public. Source of extracting bribe money, is that the reason??
