
Speaking to the representatives of Karachi vegetable market on Monday, Rangers officials said that they will increase their presence and patrolling in the area to control crimes against dealers, importers and exporters. They also announced to setup two Rangers check posts at the two main entry points.
Brigadier Jawed Baloch of Bhittai Rangers and Sector Commander Lt. Colonel Pervez Rind visited the Karachi fruit market to address the security concerns of traders who have been demanding better security from government for over a year.

Traders and businessmen said that land grabbers and extortionists have increased their activities off late which is badly affecting businesses in the surrounding areas of the market.
“Karachi fruit market has become a den of land grabbers who are now creating problems for the genuine businessmen working in the market,” Chairman Fruit Welfare Association Haji Zahid Awan told Rangers officials on Monday.
Karachi vegetable market has a crucial role in import and export of fruits and vegetables. The market is not only important for Karachi alone but it also a part of the huge business chain that connects it to all the major fruit and vegetable markets of Pakistan. The market is also critical for the economy as it accounts for over 95 per cent of the total fruit and vegetable exports of Pakistan.
