Police said the man’s brothers and mother had helped him kill the woman and that a case had been registered.

BAHAWALPUR:

A woman was killed on Tuesday allegedly by her husband after she apparently refused to waive her dower payment.

Police said the man’s brothers and mother had helped him kill the woman and that a case had been registered against them all.

Police said the complain was filed by the victim’s brother Muhammad Iqbal Zafar, a resident of Mehboob Colony, Chishtian, who said that his sister Sabra Bibi had married Muhammad Rafique.

He said Rafique had agreed to give her a house, 100 grams of gold and Rs100,000 as dower.

However, he said, Rafique had later asked Sabra Bibi to waive the dower, but she had refused to do so.

He said on Tuesday  Rafique poisoned Sabra Bibi with help from his brothers Muhammad Nasir and Allah Ditta and mother Nooran.

He said some neighbours who had heard her scream had called to tell him that his sister had died. They also informed the police. No arrests have been made so far.
