ISLAMABAD:
Mobile phone operators in the country cashed in on the enthusiasm of voters during the 2013 election campaigns and generated huge revenues as SMS traffic got a boost of up to one billion messages per day.

The elections can be termed unique as all the political parties tried to make full use of all the media sources available to them, especially the SMS tool to influence voters.


Thousands of candidates made full use of modern communication facilities and continuously tried to convince voters in their constituencies.
