All out: 29 more seats needed for ‘Naya Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’
There's a high probability that PTI and JI will agree on a coalition govt, says PTI provincial student wing president.

After securing a majority in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s central and provincial leadership will meet today (Monday) to discuss possible alliances for the next provincial government.
“The central leadership has convened a meeting at the party’s secretariat to discuss the possibilities of forming government in K-P,” an inside source told The Express Tribune.
According to unofficial results, the party is leading with 34 provincial seats in K-P, however, to gain a majority to form a government they require a total of 63 seats, which includes reserved seats for women and minorities.
“There is a high probability that PTI and the Jamaat-e-Islami will agree on a coalition government but we would still need the support of independent candidates to meet the required number,” said PTI provincial student wing president Hussain Akhunzada.
It was also learned that PTI Secretary General Pervaiz Khattak has been assigned the task to negotiate with independent candidates for their support in favour of the party.
In the present situation, where no political party is in the position to make a government without the support of other parties, the importance of the 15 independent candidates has increased in the political arena as they are considered vital in forming the next government.
A majority of PTI provincial assembly members are inexperienced, having never been elected in the parliament before.
