Still hasnt started. Ballot boxes came at 12:05pm. Huge cheer which was soon replaced by boos when the staff informed they dont have stamps. According to people who have been here since morning, half the people have left but they expect them to return. Saw an 80+ woman on a wheel chair leave after staying for more than 3 hours.

Trouble with ballot boxes

I just voted in NA-250, at Commerce College, Ziauddin Ahmed road. I reached at 7.45 in the morning, waited for 2 hours and they kept telling us the ballot boxes were not available. Then this random guy came to tell all the voters that it's going to take many hours so we should 'go back home and have nashta'. My dad called up higher authorities and we found out that the ballot boxes were being HELD BACK on purpose. My dad and his friend found out where and went there with the assistant presiding officer in our car to the city court. They got the ballot boxes for our polling station themselves. It's very obvious why this is happening. Please encourage people NOT to leave the station without voting. They can repeat the same process at their own polling station. 5 years of peace is absolutely worth the 'khwaari'.

Late starts

The polling station of FG School, school road cantt, where polling started late is of  PS113, and NA250. There were only one type of ballot boxes, with white lid, in which we were told to post both ballot papers (green and white). I need to be assured that our votes will be counted, for NA ad PS seats.

A teacher complains

"Waiting since 3 hours in line at DHA degree college phase 8. Thousands in line and only one stamp! Ballot boxes came at 11. They want us to leave, but we will not till we have voted! We say no to giving up!"

Presiding officer

Na 250- officer, who claims he has been involved with conducting elections since Zia's time, says he is overwhelmed by the turn out. "I have never seen such a response in my life! This is a shock to me. Yaqeen nahin aa raha"

He also said "In the absence of stamps, it is allowed to sign ballot papers because they are valid."
