Bogus voting, rigging is taking place: MQM
Dr Farooq Sattar says army is entering polling stations against ECP's code of conduct.
KARACHI:
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) held an emergency press conference on Saturday claiming that bogus voting and rigging was taking place across the country, especially in Karachi.
MQM deputy convener Dr Farooq Sattar said that ballot papers reached some polling stations right on time, but failed to reach several polling stations even after 11am.
“At several polling stations, including Oxford Academy School, there are reports of army being inside the polling stations which is clearly against the Election Commission’s code of conduct,” Sattar said.
He said that the administration is holding the army and Rangers responsible for not being able to avert problems being faced at the polling stations.
“This is the opposite free, fair and transparent elections,” he said.
The MQM leader also condemned the blasts that took place in Karachi earlier during the day.
