Ahmed was provincial assembly candidate standing for PS-95 constituency situated in Orangi Town and was memeber of the Orangi Town sector committe, the MQM-H spokesperson Khalid Hameedi informed The Express Tribune.
Earlier the Election commission had disqualified him but later he submitted his papers again as independent candidate, spokesperson further said.
The victim was resident of Sherpao Colony in Landhi, as the Orangi Town is a no go area for any activist of the MQM-H.
Firing was reported in Landhi earlier Friday morning.
With the death of the candidate, there is a chance that elections in the constituency may be postponed.
Earlier on May 3, at least two people were wounded and a taxi was set on fire during a clash between the MQM and the MQM-H in Landhi.

Funny thing is that both parties have same manifesto to start with but MQM is hated not because of it's name; it is because of discrimination against urdu speaking population like bangalis who were never accepted as Pakistanis. It is scary to know that if PTI and MQM votes are divided in places were MQM doesn't have absolute majority, will benefit PPP to win it all. MQM is PTI's natural Alliance because of their Manifesto and educated PTI Memebers know that and that is why Imran khan stopped criticizing MQM. It would be very beneficial for both parties if they realize it and stop working against each other.

@imtiaz: Who told you ANP was hoping to win PS95 and NA241? PS95 is the same constituency where MQM's Manzer Imam won by getting over 80,000 votes and in the last election there was no ANP from this constituency. As far as NA241 is concerned MQM got over 93,000 and ANP received only 36,000. Get your facts straight before making a stupid comment.

It is a big loss for ANP who was extremely hopeful of winning NA-241 and PS-95.Now MQM will win in bye elections.
