Towers blown : Balochistan goes without electricity

Four 220 kv towers were blown up in the Chatter and Nautal areas of Naseerabad.

As many as 21 districts in Balochistan, including major parts of the provincial capital, witnessed suspension of electricity supply on the second consecutive day on Wednesday after unidentified persons blew up four towers of transmission lines in district Naseerabad.


According to details, four 220 kv towers were blown up in the Chatter and Nautal areas of Naseerabad with explosive material. Baligh-uz-Zaman, Chief Executive QESCO said that the power shortage rose up to 1400 megawatt in Balochistan, adding that only 45 megawatt of electricity was available to cater to the needs of 21 districts.
