KARACHI:
The Crime Investigation Department (CID) arrested two men, allegedly involved in the Lyari gang war, in Gulshan-e-Iqbal on Saturday.
According to the police, Rauf Baloch and Iqbal, are wanted in more than 10 criminal cases, including murder, robbery and street crime. Baloch was arrested from Hassan Square. The operation was supervised by the CID Anti-Extremism Cell SSP Omer Shahid and CID CTU SSP Chaudry Aslam.
CID SSP Omer Shahid said a heavy cache of ammunition was seized from Golimar on the basis of information received from the two suspects.
“Baloch used to be a member of the Rehman group and also served as nazim of UC-20. Later, he joined the Ghaffar Zikri group,” said SSP Omer Shahid. CID officials consider him the de facto head of the Ghaffar Zikri group. “He is the real mastermind,” Shahid said.
