Dual national: Zahid Iqbal stays disqualified
Iqbal had won the previous elections from the same constituency.

The Lahore High Court on Tuesday disqualified former MNA Chaudhry Zahid Iqbal from contesting elections in NA-162, Sahiwal-III. The Bench dismissed Iqbal’s petition challenging the orders of the returning officer and the election tribunal. They had declared him ineligible for having was a dual nationality. Iqbal had won the previous elections from the same constituency. He was declared disqualified by the Supreme Court in October 2012. Iqbal was arrested in April.
