Northern bypass: NHA chairman asked to start construction immediately
Court directed NHA to immediately release the amount to PDA for the construction of an underpass on university road.

The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday directed National Highway Authority (NHA) chairman to immediately acquire land, finalise PC-II (project cycle form) and start construction work on the second project of the Northern Bypass.
The orders were issued by a division bench comprising PHC Chief Justice Dost Muhammad Khan and Justice Musarrat Hilali after Deputy Secretary Legal Finance Division Muhammad Hamid told the court Rs1.88 billion were released on May 3 for construction the of the Northern Bypass.
The court directed NHA to immediately release the amount to Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) for the construction of an underpass on university road while at the same time directing PDA to clear Justice Kiyani Road by removing concrete blocks from PHC’s main entry gate.
