Legislative Drafting: Bokhari urges training of lawmakers

He said legislative drafting is important area which needed special attention as there is a dearth of legal draftsmen.

ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari has said that the training of parliamentarians as well as their supporting staff was essential for strengthening democracy in Pakistan.

He expressed these views in a meeting with the European Union delegation to Pakistan regarding the EU-Pakistan Cooperation Programme.

He said that legislative drafting was an important area which needed special attention as there was a dearth of legal draftsmen in Pakistan, adding that trained draftsmen could definitely facilitate the work of parliamentarians.
