Polls prep: Schools, colleges may be closed from May 9-11

All institutes will remain closed from Wednesday, May 8 till Sunday, May 12.

Classes will resume on Monday.

All schools and colleges in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa are expected to be closed from May 9 to May 11.



An official in the education department said the summary for the closure of schools across the province has been sent to the chief secretary. The decision is expected to be taken today (Tuesday).

The official further said the closure of educational institute in the province is part of election preparations as polling stations will be set up in schools and teachers will be on duty at polling booths. For us to prepare properly, we need to close down all schools for three days, he maintained.

The Sindh and Punjab governments have also ordered the closure of schools. All institutes will remain closed from Wednesday, May 8 till Sunday, May 12. Classes will resume on Monday.
