Threat controlled : High-intensity bomb defused
The official said the bomb had been planted in order to target police vans patrolling the area.

A high-intensity bomb planted by unidentified militants at a roadside in Zargari, Doaba was defused by the bomb disposal (BDS) squad on Sunday.
Ahmad Khan, an official of the Doaba police said in the early hours of the morning a pedestrian informed police he had spotted a suspicious sack placed on the roadside in Zargari. Police rushed to the site and cordoned off the area, Khan added. The official said BDS officials defused the bomb after an hour, adding the bomb had been planted in order to target police vans patrolling the area. The official explained around six kilogrammes of explosives planted in a canister were defused by BDS officials. Police are patrolling the road which has been reopened for traffic, he added.
