“His [Haq's] blood pressure had been going down, so a third vasopressor had to be added (yesterday),” the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), where he was shifted shortly after the attack, said in reference to Sanaullah's condition.
In a tit-for-tat for the attack on Indian spy Sarabjit Singh, Sanaullah was hit with a very sharp weapon in a Jammu jail on Friday and was airlifted to Chandigarh for medical aid.
Attacked by an ex-Indian army convict Vinod Kumar, Sanaullah medical’s condition showed he was subjected to “multiple assaults of unspeakable savagery”, said Pakistan High Commission officials.
Earlier, a CT scan detected multiple contusions with severe brain edema (brain capillaries damaged due to head injury) caused by severe head injuries.
A team of doctors, including a neurosurgeon, are looking after Haq in the intensive care unit of the hospital.
Representatives of Pakistan High Commission visited the critical prisoner and will get updates regarding his condition from doctors today, the TOI reported.
Haq, accused of detonating bombs at electricity pylons and government buildings in the disputed Kashmir state in 1990, was sentenced to eight years in jail by a Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA) and Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) court in 2008.

@roadkashehzada: Thank you. I understood he was jailed for killing people. I stand corrected. However what was a Pakistani doing in a "disputed" territory exploding bombs? What would be punishment for this in Pakistan?
@jsm:
Last para of the report:
"Haq, accused of detonating bombs at electricity pylons and government buildings in the disputed Kashmir state in 1990, was sentenced to eight years in jail by a Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA) and Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) court in 2008."
The timings of these hateful murders tell the whole story. The rightwing forces do not want any friendship or understanding between the people of the two countries. What a shame that just to continue the animosity the murders, beatings and beheading are used.
tit for tat
The Champions of "Aman Ki Asha" are totally silent on this issue. It is feared that a new proxy war will start between prisoners of both countries provoking violence.
Dont think that this would stop the Indians from hurting Pakistani prisoners.
@roadkashehzada: What 8 year term are you talking of.
Prisons are full of low functioning people with potential for violence. However, the people we should really blame are the heads of Indian/Pakistan Governments who have kept childish tit-for-tat bickering going for 65 years, and thus continually encouraging people to be violent. However, we should not get too carried away. The Pakistan/Indian violent death rate is quite low compared to much of the world. For, example the US violent death rate is 26% higher than India, and 23% higher than Pakistan.
"It's not rebels that make trouble, but trouble that makes rebels". I think all Amman Ki Asaha types efforts are useless if such Tit-for-Tat strategy will remain continue across the borders, any more !!
What happened to this person was wrong. Yes Sarabjit was treated unfairly in a similar way and that was also wrong but 2 wrongs do not make a right.
utter incompetence of pakistan government and its officers in both cases (sarabjit and sanaulla). justice should have been served to sarbjit's victims in 2002 after his mercy plea was rejected. and sanaullah shud have been released after he completed his 8 yrs term long back
BUT ET according to you he already died naa?
@Raf
Although shameful but There are two eyes for one in this case.(remember chamel singh ?)
Having seen how this savagery pans out on both sides of the border, its time to give peace a chance.
An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind - Gandhi.
