Medical Negligence: Woman dies ‘from injection’
She was suffering from fever.
FAISALABAD:
A woman died on Friday from an injection she received at a private clinic here, her family alleged.
Sajida Bibi, a resident of Chak 202-RB, was taken to the clinic, near Bhai Wala Park, run by Dr Aamir Liaquat. She was suffering from fever, said Muhammad Rauf, a relative of Sajida Bibi.
A doctor at the clinic prescribed her an injection after which Sajida’s condition deteriorated and she passed away, he said.
Several relatives of the woman later staged a protest demonstration. They demanded action against Dr Liaquat and the doctor who had prescribed the injection.
Millat Town SHO Kashif Riaz said action would be taken once the medical examination report was received.
Dr Liaquat said Sajida had been brought to the clinic in a serious condition. He said the doctor who treated Sajida had not been negligent. The medical examination report will show that, he said.
