Deadline: Election canvassing to end May 9

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) said on Friday that the poll campaign will come to an end 48 hours before the polling day.
An official of Election Commission said that the commission has set midnight Thursday, May 9 as the deadline for discontinuing all public meetings and political campaigns.
He said that candidates violating the deadline will have to face the music in terms of various penalties including disqualification, Rs100,000 fines or withholding of their results by the returning officers.
To a question, he said that elections would not be postponed in those constituencies where the Supreme Court has disqualified contesting candidates.
