PESHAWAR:

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) health department on Friday ordered all district health officers (DHOs) to impose emergencies in state-run hospitals on May 11.

Medical superintendents (MS) in each district and tehsil headquarter hospitals in the province will act as focal persons, while mobile teams of doctors will be deployed in a majority of the polling stations so that emergency treatment can be provided.

“We have issued the list of instructions to all DHOs,” said Director General Health, Dr Muhammad Zafar, adding DHOs have also been asked to ensure every staff member is on-duty on Election Day.

Zafar said an emergency control room has been established at the Peshawar Health Directorate which will coordinate with medical superintendents, who will in turn coordinate with the deputy commissioner and district police officers of their respective districts.
