DERA ISMAIL KHAN:

Taking his one-time allies to task on Wednesday, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that people will never vote for those responsible for bloodshed in the country.

Addressing a public gathering in Ramak city of Dera Ismail Khan, the Maulana said the country had witnessed corruption and worsening law and order situation during the five-year rule of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Awami National Party (ANP).

Unveiling his party’s manifesto, he said the JUI-F had presented the electorate with the best manifesto in the country.

He directed his criticism at his political rivals, the PPP and ANP, as well as Pakistan Tehreek-e Insaf (PTI), which has emerged as the latest threat to the politico-religious leader’s traditional bastion of support. Fazl is contesting from three National Assembly constituencies NA-27, NA-25 and NA-24.

Taking a jibe at PTI chief Imran Khan, the JUI-F chief said the slogan of ‘Naya Pakistan’ was being raised to mislead the youth. He questioned how a person whose children were being raised by non-Muslims could make a ‘Naya Pakistan’ for the Muslims of the country.

The Maulana said that people must be wary of the hidden hand behind the slogan of ‘Naya Pakistan’.

Fazl said there was no justification for delaying the polls despite the worsening law and order situation. He called upon all political parties to participate in the forthcoming elections, adding that this time around the country could not bear another martial law.
