Former lover suspected of killing ex-SHO’s wife, father
A woman allegedly gunned down the wife and father of her boyfriend, a police inspector.

A woman allegedly gunned down the wife and father of her boyfriend, a police inspector, with the help of two accomplices in Township on Friday.
According to the police, however, the wife and father of Ghulam Dastagir, former SHO of Sattukatla police station, were killed a monetary issues. The assailants attacked them while the two were on their home after picking up Dastagir’s seven-year-old son from school.
A pedestrian was also hit but survived.
The victims, Shahnaz (35) and her father-in-law Yaseen, had picked up the seven-year-old child from his school near Akbar Chowk, Township, on a rickshaw. When they were near the Al-Jannat Marriage Hall on College Road, a black car, with a woman in the driver’s seat, hit the rickshaw from behind. After it was hit thrice Sabir Hussain, the rickshaw driver, pulled over and approached the car. While he walked towards the car two men wearing black clothes, carrying guns, got out of the car and approached the passengers in the rickshaw. They grabbed Shahnaz and Yaseen and shot them in their chests, which killed both of them instantly. The child was not harmed. The murderers and the driver, fired more shots while fleeing from the scene injured a pedestrian who was identified as Amir.
Passersby informed the police about the incident who sent the bodies of the victims to the Jinnah Hospital for an autopsy. They also took Sabir Hussain into custody for interrogation.
Township DSP Hammad, told the media that Uzma resident of K-Block Wapda Town, was involved in the killing of Shahnaz and Yaseen. He said that her accomplices had not been identified. He said that Ghulam Dastagir had not filed a complaint. He added that the motive could only be ascertained after detailed investigations.
Well-placed sources in the police revealed after the murders, the police had raided Uzma’s house, which was found closed. However, her neighbours told the police that Uzma had a black car and had left her house along with two men at about 10:30 am on Friday. The sources further revealed that the police had also questioned Uzma’s daughter, who owns a beauty parlor in Wapda Town and interrogated her. She told the police that they had hired a new servant Zulfiqar, who was wearing black clothes on Friday. She identified the other servant as Sagheer.
Ghulam Dastagir had been dismissed from service after Uzma’s former husband, Iqbal, had submitted an obscene video of Uzma and Ghulam Dastagir to the former CCPO Pervaiz Rathore. Iqbal had told Rathore that Dastagir had illicit relations with his wife. The then CCPO had dismissed Dastagir and ordered an inquiry.
During the inquiry, Dastagir had presented a certificate of marriage and a certificate of divorce, which showed that he married and later divorced Uzma. Dastagir had further claimed that the video provided to the CCPO was fake. However, during the course of inquiry, marriage and divorce certificates were proved to be fakes.
A case was then registered against Dastagir in the Nawakot police station on Iqbal’s complaint.
Sources said that Uzma and Dastagir had been fighting recently. Sources close to Dastagir said that Uzma had been urging him to sell the house where Shahnaz and Yaseen lived but Dastagir had not agreed.
