Campaign Nuisance: Seven arrested for firing in the air, playing loud music
Police on Monday registered cases against several people over charges of violating the election code of conduct.
Cases were registered against six people, including Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz candidate for PP-106 Chaudhry Asadullah Aarain, for firing in the air and using fireworks. Five of them were arrested. Kasoki police said Aarain was presiding over a corner meeting in Bawahi village on Monday when six of his supporters started firing in the air.
They were arrested on the spot. Aarain was also named in the case. Those arrested were identified as Sanaullah, Altaf, Imran, Mubahser and Muhammad Shoaib. Elsewhere, City police arrested two Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf workers for playing loud music. Cases were registered against them and the car used for the purpose was impounded. Those arrested were identified as Waris Ali and Osama. In Narowal, six cases were registered against election campaigners on Sunday in for display of weapons.
